The The Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI) and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) have formalized their longstanding collaboration, recently signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI) is the specialised body administering a global Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MRA) among accreditation bodies responsible for accreditation of conformity assessment bodies in the fields of management systems, products, services, process, persons, validation and verification; testing (including medical testing/examination), calibration, provision of proficiency testing, production of reference materials, and biobanking; inspection activities and other similar programs of conformity assessment.

The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) is the global leader for the international sport of thoroughbred racing. The IFHA seeks to promote all facets of the worldwide sport of thoroughbred racing; protect the welfare of the equine and human athletes; and protect and grow its global social and economic significance for current and future generations.

For more than 30 years ILAC-G7, the precursor to Global ACI-TECH-1-001 document, has been extremely valuable in helping achieve greater consistency across horseracing laboratories and, by extension, the horse racing industry’s anti-doping efforts.

Both organisations look forward to continuing their collaboration for the ongoing  maintenance of the Global ACI guidance document, Accreditation Requirements and Operating Criteria for Horseracing Laboratories (Global ACI-TECH-1-001).
