World Accreditation Day (WAD), celebrated annually on 9 June, is a global initiative that promotes the value of accreditation in supporting governments, regulators, industry and consumers. This year’s theme, ‘Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation’, will highlight how accreditation builds trust, supports sustainable development and enables innovation by ensuring testing, inspection, certification, validation/verification and other conformity assessment activities are carried out competently and consistently around the world.

Case studies demonstrating the real-world impact of accreditation are also available through the Public Sector Assurance and Business Benefits websites, illustrating its value across different sectors. Global ACI encourages members, stakeholders and the wider conformity assessment community to support WAD 2026 by sharing the available resources and using the hashtag #WAD2026.
